There are many companies out there to look into when looking at a private jet. Bluestar jets, netjets, onesky, executivejetco; these are all good private jet companies too look into. But first ask yourself what do you want/what are you looking for when you hire a private jet? Lets do a simple Pro’s/Con’s List:
Pro’s:
-Bypass security and waiting in lines
-Be able to leave and arrive on your schedule, not 250 other peoples
-You get to look like a Boss!
-Less likely to get blown up
Let us look at each of these “Pro’s” individually. Bypassing the security lines is a pretty sweet deal with all of the check points and searches and what not. You will not only save time but also headache and the stress of possibly missing your flight. There are some companies out there right now that are working on an “easy pass” for airline security. Essentially you have to register with passports, retinal and finger print scans and then you are on their list. This enables you to use a separate line in which you will still go through a metal detector but you will be on the Fast Track. Personally I think you would look much cooler walking through the airport and getting your eyes scanned. That’s like FBI/Secret agent stuff. (The ladies like that)
You get to leave more or less on your schedule. No waiting on line, no waiting for the best price; you just call up your private jet captain and tell him to saddle up!
I think this is one of the main selling points. You feel like a CEO, granted you probably have to be a CEO to get a private jet, but you call the shots. Tell the pilot when to take off, where to land ect. It is a complete power trip.
To an extent, it is probably safer. You most likely know everyone on the plane and are less likely to let a terrorist on. On the other hand – see one of the Con comments.
Con’s:
-Cost
-You look like a smug a**hole
-There are probably a lot more private jet crashes then commercial airliners
The downsides are that in this economy, who can afford a private jet. Back in the early 2000’s, everyone was buying their own airplane with the immense Wall Street Bonuses.
Nowadays many people are screaming to the high heavens that companies shouldn’t use private jets. I am not sure what hiring a private jet runs so if anyone knows please leave it in the comments.
You would kind of look like a dick but so does everyone that has something that everyone else wants… if you enjoy then it doesn’t matter what other people think.
Without doing any kind of research and with no statistical data to back up this assumption I am going to go out on a limb and say there have been more plane crashes for private planes than commercial aircraft. I will do some research on that for a latter post, but that is what I believe.
Okay so there are some good reasons to charter a private jet, but are the costs worth it. Check out some of the advertisements and leave a comment to show what you think.
